Wireless Site Survey
It is virtually impossible to consider all the variables that might affect the RF pattern and performance of your WLAN. Changing your environment or adding additional wireless devices (speakers, cameras etc), might seriously impact your WLAN performance.
Net-Ctrl has a dedicated internal wireless technical team that is available to help you get the WLAN your organisation demands. Whether you’re preparing for a new deployment, or want to troubleshoot your existing solution, we can help.
We undertake four different wireless surveys, if you’re unsure on which is best for your site, please give us a call.
WiFi Planning Survey aka Predictive Site Survey
Before any wireless project we recommend getting a Wi-Fi Planning Survey. This is a free of charge service; all we need is a set of site plans and a description of your built environment. We will run your site plans through specialist wireless software, create your virtual RF environment and analyse your site. This allows us to make some informed predictions of your AP count, signal level and signal-to-noise ratio, which is all documented on a heat map report that you will be issued with at the end.
Pre-Deployment Hybrid Site Survey
For larger or more complex sites, in addition to the predictive site survey we recommend having a Pre-Deployment Hybrid Site Survey. This survey requires one of our wireless engineers visiting your site and running a multitude of wireless tests. They will measure for packet loss, maximum throughputs, signal coverage and signal strength to accurately predict your wireless performance and kit list. This is charged out at a daily rate. Once all the data has been collected, the engineer will draw up your detailed wireless report and live heat maps.
Post Installation Survey
You’ve planned your wireless network meticulously, you have undertaken both the Wi-Fi Planning and Pre-Deployment Surveys and now your wireless is up and running. The only way you can confirm that your network is providing you with the predicted coverage, connectivity and capacity is to carry out a Validation Survey, also referred to as a Post Installation Survey.
Wi-Fi Troubleshooting and Health Check
We have a lot of clients approach us with an existing wireless solution that they have invested heavily in, but that isn’t delivering on its promises. You may be experiencing interference, dead spots or connectivity issues to name but a few. We can use our wireless know-how, trained engineers and specialist software to analyse your site and perform and Troubleshooting and Health Check exercise to find the source of and solution for your problems.

What’s Next for Network Firewalls?
Firewalls have come a long way from their humble beginnings of assessing network traffic based on appearance alone. Today’s next-generation firewalls (NGFWs), which must protect all areas of enterprise, can filter layer 7 applications, block malicious attachments and...
Minimise Technical Debt Using Smart Wi-Fi Networking Tools
Large wireless installations often are at risk of not attaining targets established in service level agreements (SLAs). Networking professionals often attribute the problem to inadequate site surveys during planning, yet oversight of key project management activities...
The Airwaves Have Opened: 6GHz Spectrum Availability Delivers Next-Generation Wi-Fi Experience Next-Generation Wi-Fi in the 6GHz Band
For two decades, Wi-Fi® has been limited to two open frequency bands: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. However, with the influx of applications and devices demanding more bandwidth, it was time for a change — one that began to materialize just a few short years ago. In a unanimous...
