Are you ready for BETT?

Thursday, January 16th, 2014

We are now less that a week away from the doors opening at BETT 2014, and we’re pretty excited in the Net-Ctrl office, our stand is looking great and everything is ready and boxed for the journey into London.

In preparation for the show I thought it would be worth highlighting a few of their top tips for people attending.

Registration

Although it is in our nature to join a queue, register before and you can skip straight in.

Plan Your Day

Review what your school/college/university needs and/or what you’re interested in, then you can use the BETT shows exhibitor guide to find all the suppliers that meet your criteria. This way you won’t miss anyone that you would have liked to see and it will save you some time on the day. The show will open at 10.00 each day and close at 18.00 Wednesday-Friday and at 16.00 on Saturday.

Learning

BETT provide a whole host of high quality training and development sessions throughout the whole show. Make sure you take a look at their schedule and see if there are any of interest.

Travel

Make sure you review your route to the show and give yourself plenty of time to get there. From our experiences at the ExCel centre last year, a lot of the train/underground lines get very full.

Clothing and Cloakrooms

Comfortable shoes are a must, especially if you’re planning on coming down for more than one day. There are also cloakrooms available on site to store coats.

Bring a Bag

A good sized bag is always useful to store all the freebies and datasheets that you will no doubt be picking up during your time at BETT.

Pay a Visit to Net-Ctrl on Stand F121

One of the more important tips on our list in my opinion. Make sure you come and visit Net-Ctrl on stand F121. We will be showcasing Ruckus Wireless and Kaspersky Lab solutions with a number of wireless/security professionals on hand to answer any questions you may have and provide product tours. You will also get the chance to meet some of the Net-Ctrl team.

We all look forward to seeing you all next week.

10 Reasons Why You Should use Kaspersky Lab

Monday, January 6th, 2014

Net-Ctrl and Kaspersky Lab will be exhibiting at BETT 2014 and showcasing their endpoint security portfolio on stand F121. Also joining us on our stand this year will be Ruckus Wireless.

Make sure you stop by and find out more about what we have to offer.

Kaspersky Lab in Education

Security is a primary concern for all education establishments, their systems hold a lot of confidential information and schools now more than ever face a growing challenge to keep the right people in, and the wrong out. Education establishments are now deploying their own tablet and mobile devices resulting in the need for a Mobile Device Management (MDM)solution. There is also the on-going need to secure physical & virtual machines, files, storage, email, Internet & collaboration servers.

In terms of security platforms available on the market place there is a lot to choose from. We have partnered with Kaspersky Lab who has developed the industry’s first security platform, built from the ground up. It enables IT staff to see, control and protect their world. Their leading solution, Kaspersky Security for Business, enables the user to protect and control their endpoints from workstations to smartphones and virtual machines to secure your servers and gateways, and to remotely manage your entire security environment.

Here are 10 reasons why Kaspersky Security for Business should be your corporate security standard:

1. One Platform. Kaspersky’s technology platform is developed in-house by our own engineers. This fully integrated architecture allows for stability and streamlined IT policy creation by the security administrator. A single policy set covers anti-malware, endpoint controls, encryption, and other security features.

2. One Console. From one intuitive central console you can identify, control and protect all your endpoint assets (physical, virtual, mobile), conduct fast but thorough vulnerability assessments that help you prioritise the most critical patches, achieve real-time hardware & software inventories and obtain clear, actionable reporting.

3. One Cost. With Kaspersky, you don’t have to evaluate, budget for and order a new IT tool every time you need to protect a different area of the network. We’ve developed a comprehensive set of security and IT efficiency tools, all built into one integrated platform. Which means only one evaluation and one budget request!

4. Flexible, granular controls. With pre-defined or customised configurations, you can set and enforce security policies to manage application behaviour and permissions, connected peripherals, and web use —in the office, or on the move.

5. Painless, straightforward mobile security. Mobile endpoint protection can be deployed remotely through centralised Mobile Device Management (MDM). Kaspersky enables you to secure and protect your data, even on employees’ own smartphones and tablets.

6. Powerful Encryption. File or Full-disk encryption protects corporate data in the event of accidental device loss or theft. Kaspersky’s technology is transparent to users and applications while rendering data unreadable to cyber-criminals.

7. Efficient patch management. Advanced vulnerability scanning and patch management ensures you’re always up-to-date and fully notified about your most critical security exposures.

8. Robust systems management tools. A powerful toolkit designed to make time-consuming IT tasks like OS installation, network inventory, system provisioning, remote administration, network admission control and licence management both faster and less complex.

9. End-to-End Protection. Kaspersky has long been a leader in protecting all aspects of network infrastructure. Wide ranging support covers Windows®, Linux®, Apple, Exchange, Netware, Notes/Domino, SharePoint, iOS, Android™, Windows Mobile, Symbian and more. From the endpoint all the way to the internet gateway, you can protect it with Kaspersky Lab.

10. Proof of performance. Again and again in independent tests, Kaspersky Lab comes out on top. So don’t compromise on your security and don’t waste resources with other vendors who just can’t keep up with the threats!
